Australian Waste Management

About Us

Australian Waste Management is focused on providing affordable and reliable waste management products and services to everyone, everywhere. We are an innovative global leader with the highest skilled, dedicated team, highest quality products and most reliable services with complete customer satisfaction guaranteed.

Our focus is on RECYCLING. Australian Waste Management aims to recycle 100% of all waste collected! Currently, we are working hard to minimise waste by providing once off and regular collections for Office Paper & Cardboard Recycling, Plastic & Glass Recycling and Steel & Aluminium Can Recycling.

With decades of experience in the waste and recycling industries, our team of specialists are more than qualified to assist customers in reducing and managing their waste and recycling streams.

Established in 2003, Australian Waste Management began as a small, family owned and operated Paper and Cardboard Recycling Business based in Melbournes West.

In January, 2004, Australian Waste Management purchased a large number of bins on location with customers from Paperaway, who had previously acquired them from Softex, the Victorian paper recycling division of a large Queensland based tissue manufacturer, buying out a large section of their Victorian waste paper recycling establishment.

In July, 2006, Australian Waste Management aquired A2Z Recycling, a medium sized waste management and recycling company operating in Metropolitain Melbourne in Victoria, bringing on board a large number of new customers, and widening our focus from Paper, Cardboard and Document Destruction, to also include Glass & Plastic Bottle and Steel & Aluminium Can Recycling.

The aquisition of A2Z Recycling also brought with it the distribution rights for Nylex Plastics in Australia, making us one of a select few Authorised Nylex Plastics and Wheelie Bin product distributors in Victoria, and allowing us to stock their entire range of 4 sizes and 12 colours of wheelie bin.

Since Nylex Plastics was acquired by Transpacific Industries in 2009, and more recently divided and resold, Australian Waste Management has forged strong bonds with other Australian Wheelie Bin Manufacturers to ensure an ongoing continuous supply of the best quality, Australian made wheelie bins for our customers. This has also enabled us to expand our stock holdings to include 7 sizes and and 13 colours of Wheelie Bin. We can also supply non standard sizes and colours, accessories and modifications such as hot stamping or branding, fitting locks, lid mounted rosettes or slots and even flip top, swing top or recycling chute style hooded lids upon request.

Due to aquisitions over time, you may see a number of different coloured recycling bins with the various company names on them. Some common names on Australian Waste Management bins are Softex Recycling, A2Z Recycling and Australian Waste Management. Any of the associated telephone numbers, will help you get in touch with us!

In September 2009, Australian Waste Management purchased their own shredding plant, installing it in their West Footscray factory in Melbourne's Inner West. This plant recycles all paper and cardboard wastes by shredding it into tiny pieces ensuring your confidential documents remain that way. After shredding, the paper fibres are recycled back into numerous paper and cardboard products.

In September 2015, in a bid to keep ahead of growth requirements, the decision was made to custom build our very own warehouse and a state of the art shredding facility in Truganina in Melbournes West. The plant will be more efficient with higher capacity to allow us to shred and recycle more of your documents, paper and cardboard while reducing cost and increasing security.

The Future

Australian Waste Management will soon be expanding recycling and document destruction operations into New South Wales and Queensland, giving complete coverage of the eastern states. Once this is achieved, further expansion will include recycling and document destruction in South Australia, Western Australia and the Northern Territory. Our aim is to provide the cost effective and environmentally friendly recycling and document destruction services we are known for to the whole of Australia, and on to the rest of the world.

We will continue to develop our business in harmony with our customers, setting in place the mutual partnership arrangements with new customers that our existing customers continue to enjoy.

Welcome to the Australian Waste Management team.
